The congregation of Besilian sisters “Daughters of St. Macrina’ is a catholic religious order for women in the Baziantain rite, founded on 8th July 1921 in Mezzojuso (Italy) by the servant of God Mother Macrina Raparelli and Fr. Nilo Borgio. The congregation was approved by Pope Benedict XV on the 8 July 1921 and Pope blessed the Congregation with this words “congregation is not just a need but it is very essential to the Church”.
